Family Dog Rouses Home Owner of Home Burglary
According to Jamestown Police, the resident awoke to the sounds of the dog growling. When the resident went to investigate, a man was located in her dining room, going through her drawers. When she yelled for helped to a neighbor, the suspect ran off through the back door.
Police responded to the scene and following footprints that were left in the snow managed to find the 21-year-old male suspect a short distance away. After he was identified he was then taken into police custody where he was charged with second degree burglary.
With the help from the family dog, the homeowner was able to scare the thief off before he was able to take anything. In this situation, a self defense device would have been a handy tool to have on hand.
A stun baton is one such device that many homeowners are turning their attention to as it is safe and easy to use. Not only that, but because it’s a baton it provides that extended distance for a person’s safety, which means that contact with a suspect is not required.
In this day and age, with home burglaries a common factor for many communities to deal with it’s important that protective measures are put into place. Unfortunately, before the introduction of non-lethal stunning batons many people either had to rely upon brute force to achieve their goals of safety or have nothing on hand that would defend them.
In both of these instances they would not have achieved the results required and in most cases someone would have ended up with injuries. Now, however, that is no longer the case with a stun baton.
Such a tool doesn’t become available every day, but since it’s introduction into many police departments and homes it has produced effective results at providing the defense that a person requires at a moment’s notice.
For those who are concerned with harming a person who may intend to harm them, they need not worry as the device is safe to use. Instead, they will only simply subdue them long enough for the police to come and take them away into police custody.
