Non-Firearm Police to Receive TASERS for the First Time

Cambridgeshire Police Authority have discussed the decision to train an extra 120 officers in the use of TASERS, including firearms officers that have already been trained.

The decision comes after the Home Office in London provided the police force with 150 of the self defense devices in 2009; however, plans to roll out the use of the tools was put on hold after financial difficulties.

While there are many who don’t think such a move is a good way forward, there are others who believe that it is the perfect alternative to subduing a person who needs to be restrained. Furthermore, the use of such a tool means that it can be used from a distance, which eliminates the need for contact between an officer and the person targeted.

In this day and age, it is important for police to know that they have access to a wide range of self defense tools at their disposal which they can use depending on the situation they find themselves in.

It’s not everyday that such a device becomes available, but knowing that there is means that more people are turning their attention to it as a way of increasing their safety in a non-lethal manner.

The creation of these devices means that those who are using it are doing so for their own protection, but the safety of the person targeted is also taken into account, which is why they are safe to use on a person as well.

This means that those who don’t want to harm someone, even if they intend to harm them, can rest assured that what they are using won’t inflict any harm on to a person. The concept of such a tool has never before been realized. As a result, over the years, TASERS have become a popular device for people to own.

After all, without them people would still be relying on brute force to defend themselves, which runs the risk of harming those involved. This is not the case with a self defense stunning tool, as results have shown the device to be an extremely effective tool to have on hand when required the most for a person’s safety.
