Sloth Bear Kills Two, Beaten to Death

A sloth bear that killed two villages and left a policeman fighting for his life has been beaten to death by villages in Venkatnager village in Anuppur district.

One of the victims died on the spot, while the second died on his way to hospital. The officer called to the spot had to be rescued by villages when the animal attacked. Relatives and villagers then killed the animal out of fear and anger and tried to set it afire.

However, the sloth bear is an endangered species under the Wildlife Protection Act and its killing can invite a jail term of up to 10 years.

In this situation, the use of animal repellents would have been more effective when it came to preventing the animal from attacking and by preserving its life as well.

When it comes to animal attacks, it’s always a good idea to have a form of protection on hand that will defend a person when they need it the most. If you are visiting an area that homes wild animals or you are venturing into a new area where the prospect of encountering a wild animal is expected then it’s a good idea to have a form of protection that will assist when it’s required.

Simply knowing it’s on hand means that you are one step ahead of such a situation and are ready for instant action should it be needed. No one should have to fear the confrontation with a wild animal, but if it does happen then you can remain confident that you are protected.

Not only that, but it also means that no harm will come to the animal in question, which is what you want as well, even if the animal wants to harm you. You may not require it, but it’s always better to have it on hand then to have nothing at all.
