Man Apprehended by TASER Gun After Punching Police
Lincoln Crown Court heard how the 21-year-old male suspect repeatedly punched two officers after they had been called to his flat in response to an assault.
The court heard that the man in question had been asked to leave the flat he shared with his partner after she made a silent 999 call. As a result, two officers found themselves returning to the flat shortly afterward when they found out that the 21-year-old male had returned to the flat where he assaulted his partner.
It is reported that the man grabbed her by the throat, threw her onto a bed and placed his knee into her stomach as he pulled her hair.
Police warned the man that they would employ the self defense device on him if he failed to listen to police orders. In the end he was eventually tackled by one of the officers who used the TASER gun on him after he continued to struggle with them.
In this day and age, it’s important for police to know that they have a range of self defense tools on hand that will defend them when they need it the most. In this situation the use of the stunning device proved effective at stopping the man who not only assaulted his partner, but also the officers too.
Simply knowing that this device is on hand means that police are better able to bring order to a situation that could potentially escalate if action is not taken in a timely manner. Without the use of a self defense device police would still find themselves relying solely upon brute force to apprehend a suspect.
The use of brute force means that harm could be inflicted on the suspects, innocent individuals and the police. In order to reduce the likelihood of this, it’s necessary for police to know that they can rely upon a device that has been created with safety in mind.
It’s not everyday that such a device becomes available, but seeing as there is, it’s not surprising to find that there are many people turning their attention to it as a way of increasing their safety in a non-lethal manner.
