Homeowner Employs Pepper Spray on Intruder
Around 5 a.m., police were called to a home after receiving a report about a prowler. When they arrived they located a 25-year-old female in the laundry room covered in blood. Her arm had been injured when she broke the glass door to gain access to the home.
According to police reports, the 43-year-old homeowner had struggled with the burglar and sprayed the self defense spray into her face.
As a result of the burglar’s actions she caused $500 worth of damage to the homeowners 1970 Ford that was parked in the driveway by denting and scratching it. Damage to the door of the home is estimated to amount to $200.
When paramedics took the suspect away for treatment she is reported to have jumped out of the ambulance; however, police were able to subdue her before she could get away.
In this situation the use of pepper spray proved extremely effective at preventing a thief from gaining access to a person’s home to steal from them. As the increase in home burglaries continues, taking measures is something that homeowners need to think more about.
Thankfully there are ways in which this can be done, simply by increasing outside protective measures such as installing good security alarms and motion detector lights. Of course, knowing that there are protective measures inside the home too will make all the different to a person’s safety.
One way of achieving this is through the self defense spray canister, which has been designed with providing the best protection a person could need in a compact canister. This means that wherever a person is they can rest assured that they have the means of defending themselves from harm.
Homeowners shouldn’t have to worry about their safety, but simply knowing that they have taken the steps to better protect themselves means that they are one step ahead of a potential criminal who may target their home.
If such a situation does present itself to them, they will have the confidence, as this homeowner did, to prevent the person from stealing from them.
