Last week the police officers in Vernon made good use of the stun guns adorning their utility belts in three separate situations.

Recently concluded New Zealand police trials indicated that the year-long period saw Tasers were frequently used to subdue people who appeared to be suffering from some sort of instability. The state of Indiana allows its police officers to use Tasers in keeping the peace, and it’s a good thing, too. Last week deputies in Mishawaka took a report on some problem behavior. A woman who had been living with her forty-two-year old boyfriend stated that he had hit her in the head several times during a fight.

After law enforcement officials chased Gregory Myers, aged 50, of Cascade, across two counties, Muscatine County sheriff’s deputies finally brought him to a halt.
In the early morning hours the law in Scott County hooked up with the Muscatine County Sheriff’s Office. Around 1:55 a.m. a gray Dodge pickup had refused to stop for an officer in the Buffalo area and was last seen heading west on Iowa Highway 22. That announcement started the next phase of activities.

New Zealand prison escort officer Constable Marcus McMahon was just doing his job when one of the two prisoners he was transporting turned on him. The three were leaving the Invercargill Courthouse and headed toward the vehicle waiting to take the prisoners back to jail.
