A Dunedin man has been arrested after a police pursuit ended when police employed pepper spray on him.
The 23-year-old male faces four charges connected to the incident, such as driving whilst disqualified, failing to stop for police, dangerous driving and refusing to permit a blood specimen to be taken.

A 22-year-old Winslow man has been apprehended by a police TASER after fleeing during questioning in connection with attempted scrap metal theft.
According to police reports the male was arrested on charges of criminal trespass and escape. Around 12:30 p.m. a property owner alerted police after seeing two people stealing scrap metal. During questioning one of the suspects fled and when ordered to stop refused to do so.

Bear spray could have prevented an expert grizzly expert from being killed by bears at Yellowstone National Park if he had listened to warnings, according to a report.
The 59-year-old male was mauled in August on a hiking trail that is favored by bears. The death of the hiker was the second by the same bear who was allowed to roam free by officials after an attack in July.
