A 23-year-old man was arrested on a warrant this week in Charlotte County after being connected with a home burglary that took place in 2007.
The suspect is accused of taking part in a break-in where $485 was stolen as the elderly woman slept. According to reports, the suspect and four friends took the woman’s stolen Buick Century to Portland, Maine.
The same suspect and two individuals were also accused of being connected to a number of thefts and burglaries in Maine, Delaware and Pennsylvania.

The Australian Government is thinking about providing transit guards with TASERS after violence occurred on the Armadale train line.
The police minister also revealed details of Operation Rail Safe for the troubled line in Parliament yesterday after he was accused of breaking a promise made in 2008 to increase the number of police on the rail network.
Plainclothes police and drug-detecting dogs will be on trains Friday and Saturday nights from November 25, focusing on the 2.15 a.m. and 4 a.m. services from Perth to Armadale. Uniformed officers will remain on trains for the entire journey while additional officers will be placed on stations to patrol and monitor those passengers leaving the train.

According to an NT Police annual report home burglaries are continuing to plague Alice Springs, regardless of the fact that police are trying to eliminate the problem in the area.
Over the past financial year there has been an increase of 63 per cent in home break-ins, from 436 to 715.
However, the Southern Region acting commander explained that the spike in the crime figures was from a bad patch between October last year and January. While this may be the case the head of the community group Action for Alice has said that the town’s residents are feeling helpless because of the property crime.

A police commissioner in London has called for police response officers to have stun guns on them at all times. The request comes after four of his officers were stabbed over the weekend.
Plans considered by Scotland Yard chiefs could see the reduction in violent crime in the city.
After speaking on LBC radio’s Nick Ferrari show, the police commissioner said that he would sanction greater use of the devices. He went on to say that the unit should be available when it’s needed the most and as an alternative to the use of firearms.

Police have said that three different home burglaries that took place in Norman on Monday are the result of the same group of men. As a result of this, police are urging residents to take more steps to better protect themselves from burglaries over the holiday season.
According to police, the three suspects aged between 19 and 26 years of age, worked together to break into three separate homes. A witness contacted police to report a burglary in progress and was able to give police a detailed description of the vehicle used.
Police say that without the witness’ description of the car, police would not have been able to trace the suspects and make an arrest. An officer made a traffic stop simply because of the vehicle having an illegal window tint and because it was similar to the description provided.
Upon inspection of the trunk, an officer found items including flat screen televisions.

Bath police employed a TASER device on a 25-year-old male after he was alleged to have threatened an officer following an early-morning fight on Thursday on Dike Road.
As a result of the incident, the 25-year-old, was charged with disorderly conduct.
Police were called to the scene at 4:42 a.m. Thursday to reports of a family fight. When they arrived on the scene they found two people outside arguing.
As one Bath Police officer approached, the 25-year-old man said to the officer that he would kill him if he made another step toward them.
Described as a large man he then reached behind his back, at which stage the officer became concerned. Due to the seriousness of the situation, he then deemed it necessary to employ the police TASER device on the suspect.

Portage troopers used a stun gun on a Portage Township man when he became violent when a warrant was being served on him on Thursday.

Two Suffolk County men have been arrested on burglary charges after they were linked to 10 home burglaries that took place over a three-month period.
During the burglaries the thieves stole computers, televisions, jewelry and other electronics.
Two 20-year-olds were arrested on Monday and charged with breaking into two Holtsville homes earlier that day.

Four people were arrested in Lancaster City on Sunday after police employed pepper spray on them to break up a drunken fight.
Police were called to the Hotel Brunswick just after 2 a.m. to assist with the break-up of a fight. When they arrived on the scene they were greeted with 200 people who were involved in the fight, most of whom were highly intoxicated.
While the fighting started at the hotel it soon spilled out on to nearby streets. As a result of the situation and because of the large number of people involved pepper spray had to be employed to break-up the fight.
Four individuals between the ages of 17 and 31 were arrested due to disorderly and drunkenness. One suspect was also arrested because of possession of marijuana.
