Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the regular and rechargeable unit?
The regular unit takes three 3-volt lithium batteries (not included) which will last about 6-9 months if it is not in use or would provide 50 times one second test. If you upgrade to the rechargeable unit, the unit will come with a power cord which you would plug one side into the unit and one side into the outlet and it will recharge itself, just like your cell phone. The battery compartment of the rechargeable version of the unit is completely sealed. Therefore, you DO NOT need to buy or replace the battery for it. The rechargeable version definitely offers more value for your buck.
How often do I have to recharge the rechargeable unit?
Under normal use the unit will need to be recharged for eight hours every 60 days. If used frequently or the electrical current becomes noticeably weaker the unit will need to be recharged.
1,000,000 volts seems a little strong, is it necessary?
Yes. Theoretically, higher voltage means shorter time to immobilize an attacker. In other words, less confrontation time. You would want to have the highest power available if possible.
Would 1,000,000 volt stun gun cause more damage than other smaller voltage stun guns?
No, even though the voltage is higher, the current is still very low (about 3-milliamp amperage, just like other models) which makes this stun gun just as less lethal as other lower voltage models.
This model doesn't come with a disable pin. Would that make it easier for an attacker to grab it?
No. This stun gun is only 3 1/4" long. It fits right in your hand making it very difficult for anyone to take it away from you.
