It’s important to know how to defend yourself when you need it the most, which is why taking a beginners self defense class is a good step to take.
In order to respond to a number of sexual assaults taking place on university campuses across the United States, colleges have put together various self defense classes for students to take part in. These have been designed to give participants the skills they require in situations they deem are dangerous.
According to RAINN, every two minutes, someone in the United States is sexually assaulted. With shocking statistics like that it is vital that students use the resources available to them when it comes to self defense. At the University of Rochester they are holding a beginners self defense class on Tuesday, July 9th and will take just one hour from noon to 1 p.m.
During the one-hour class students will focus on self defense techniques, strategies, and practice. However, while the class is only an hour it will provide a taster session of what students can expect and will, hopefully, give them the urge to take up more classes held at the college at future dates.
To register your interest you need to register online here. There are a few remaining spaces left, but you need to be quick as the class is expected to fill up soon.
